So I finally gave in and got a standing desk a couple of months ago after dealing with lower back pain that wouldn’t quit. I figured it might help with posture or at least keep me from sitting like a pretzel all day. But what surprised me most was how it affected my focus — I’m way less foggy during afternoon slumps now. Has anyone else noticed changes beyond just the physical stuff?

Totally get what you mean. I made the switch during the whole work-from-home chaos, and I thought it would just be a back-saver too. But man, I didn’t expect how much more energized I’d feel by just switching positions a few times a day. I used one of the frames fand standing desk base https://www.progressivedesk.com/collections/desk-frames and added my own top — super easy setup, and now I actually look forward to work. Didn't think that would ever happen.
Funny how small changes at home can spiral into bigger routines. I started walking more just because I was already up and moving after finishing a Zoom call. Then it turned into taking breaks outside instead of scrolling mindlessly between emails. Sometimes it’s less about the furniture and more about how it shifts your habits without you even realizing it.
Yes! I switched to a standing desk a while back and totally relate, the energy boost was unexpected but so real. I used to hit a wall mid-afternoon, but now I stay sharper and even feel more productive overall. I still alternate between sitting and standing, but just having that option makes a big difference.
Kind of like doing a SASSA Status Check, small shift, but it keeps everything running smoother in the background. Glad it’s working out for you too!
